Senior Environmental Employment Program Hosts Recognition Event, Health Fair During National Employ Older Workers Week
Nearly 40 enrollees in the Senior Environmental Employment Program serving the EPA's Office of Administration and Resources Management (OARM) were recognized during a ceremony in honor of National Employ Older Workers Week. All enrollees were honored and recognized individually for their contributions with certificates and letters of appreciation from their supervisors.
The commitment of these enrollees to the SEE Program is clear. Take Talallah Mitchell, an enrollee who has served in her position with OARM for 15 years. Ms. Mitchell was recognized for her work on policy training and oversight. Other enrollees were recognized in words and in letters from supervisors for their contributions above and beyond their daily work; like Francis Procter, Ms. P., who is always the first to arrive to work each day, Geraldine Bell who always offers a smiling face, Albert Chinchilla who is able to meet the tightest of deadlines, and Rosa McKinnon who serves as a role model for all other enrollees to follow.
After the ceremony, enrollees were invited to attend a Health Fair held at the Crystal City Hyatt in Arlington , Va. More than 200 seniors from local sponsors of the SEE Program attended to have their blood pressure checked, get massages for back wellness, and other health awareness activities.
