Sarmiento joins ASA Board
Anthony R. Sarmiento, president and executive director of Senior Service America, has been appointed to the American Society on Aging (ASA) board of directors.The ASA, one of the most prominent organizations dedicated to improving the overall well-being of older adults, will welcome Mr. Sarmiento onto its board during the ASA/National Council on Aging joint conference in March.
The appointment underscores Mr. Sarmiento's 30-year commitment to improving outcomes for low-income older adults and disadvantaged workers. He has worked with various workforce development, workplace literacy, and displaced worker assistance programs. Mr. Sarmiento currently chairs the board of directors of the Center for Applied Linguistics, and holds membership on the boards of SeniorNet and the American Youth Policy Forum.
