Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham Job Fair

On May 12, 2005, Audrey Menniefield, project director at the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham held a special job fair for older workers at the Commission's headquarters in downtown Birmingham.

Audrey and her staff recruited a wide variety of local businesses to display at the fair, including Scottish Inns, TJ Maxx, the Independent Living Center, Beltone Inc., Alabama Employment Service, Birmingham City Schools, Walgreen's and Jefferson County WIA (Seedco). SCSEP participants from the greater Birmingham area attended the event to speak to these employers about possible positions.

As a special incentive, Audrey awarded the participants who spoke to the most employers with hostas grown in her award-winning garden!
