SEQUESTRATION UPDATE
SSAI is monitoring carefully the potential "sequestration" − cuts in the budgets of federal agencies − that could go into effect on March 1. This is a complicated situation and the agencies are preparing how to best respond to this unique challenge.
We are in regular communication with EPA and the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the agencies served by SEE and ACES Enrollees, respectively. SSAI will be notified when either agency has specific guidance or plans impacting these important experienced worker programs. As soon as we have specific information, it will be posted on our website and shared directly with our SEE and ACES Enrollees.
We regret the insecurity and uncertainty that a government furlough may cause you and your families. Please be assured that the SSAI SEE Program staff is committed to assisting you in every way possible. We are anxious to answer your questions and will be available to assist you as needed during the shutdown. Please continue to check this web page and watch your local news for further updates.
