The Center for Workforce Inclusion (Center) partners with Federal agencies on workforce development, recruitment, and placement. Our partnerships range from being the largest national grantee of the Department of Labor Senior Community Service Program to providing experienced workers for temporary, project- specific work at the National Park Service, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and the Environmental Protection Agency. Below are some of our Federal partners.
The Forest Service
We are proud to partner with the Forest Service (FS) through the Forest Service Agriculture Conservation Experienced Services (FS-ACES) Program and offer individuals 55 and older temporary paid assignments to provide technical services for conservation-related programs and authorities carried out on National Forest Service land. The FS-ACES Program supports the work of U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) Forest Service. The 2008 Farm Bill (Section 1252) established the ACES Program. The authority was extended to the Forest Service in the 2014 Farm Bill (Section 8302).
National Park Service
Through our Experienced Services Program (ESP) the Center is proud to partner with the National Parks Service to offer individuals 55 and older temporary paid assignments to support and augment the capacity of the NPS to meet itsʹ mission, goals and objectives in areas where it lacks sufficient expertise, technical skills and/or capacity. Working with the Center for Workforce Inclusion (an ESP provider since 2008), the NPS uses the ESP to add capacity quickly and to support Federal workers working to sustain park operations. The ESP also provides NPS with additional capacity to respond to unexpected events and issues that can occur.
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
The Center is proud to partner with the US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) through its Experienced Services Program (ESP) providing skilled, experienced workers, age 55 and older, on a temporary, project-specific basis to help achieve the FWS’s mission of conserving the nature of America. Skilled and experienced older Americans have an opportunity to contribute their talents and knowledge toward conservation of the nation’s natural and cultural resources.
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
We are proud to partner with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program helping to provide opportunities for workers at least 55 years old to assist the EPA on various federal, state, and local environmental projects, including pollution prevention, abatement, and control. SEE enrollees perform a wide range of assignments, such as performing water supply inventories, writing and editing EPA environmental education and outreach publications, and conducting school asbestos surveys. The program is authorized by the Environmental Programs Assistance Act of 1984 (P.L. 98-313).
U.S. Department of Agriculture
We are proud to partner with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) through its Natural Resources Conservation Service Agriculture Conservation Experienced Services (NRCS-ACES) Program offering individuals 55 and older temporary paid assignments to provide technical services in support of the conservation-related programs of the USDA.
