Highlighting Speakers at the Equity Summit 2023’s “Economic Equity for our Nation’s Workers Panel”

September 20, 2023

We are thrilled to highlight more speakers who will be joining us at the highly anticipated Equity Summit 2023. Unlike other workforce and aging conferences, the Equity Summit is focused solely on the issues impacting the community you care most about – older workers, especially those living in historically underserved communities.

Our speakers will explore strategies for increasing access to education and training, as well as ways to eliminate discriminatory practices in the workplace during the “Economic Equity for our Nation’s Workers” panel.

Larry Curley

Larry serves as the executive director of the National Indian Council on Aging and as a member of the Navajo Nation with over 40 years of experience working in the aging and healthcare fields. Collaborating with Congress, other branches of the federal government, and national organizations on aging, he develops support for programs affecting elder American Indians and Alaska Natives.

Clayton Fong

Clayton is the Senior Executive and Board member in Business, Health, Aging and Government. He previously served as Deputy Assistant to the President in the White House, Deputy Appointment Secretary for the Governor of CA, CEO of the National Asian Pacific on Aging, Executive Vice President and Member of the Board of a NASDAQ listed international energy company. He also served on numerous boards including Commissioner of the White House Conference on Aging, US Delegate to the World Assembly on Aging, Chair of the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies, CMS Advisory Panel on Medicare Education, and AT&T Advisory panel on Aging and Disability.

Luis A. Quiñones

During his nearly three-year tenure with UnidosUS, Quiñones has guided and strengthened the work of the Workforce Development programs team, cultivated relationships with funders, government, and corporate partners, and grown programmatic partnerships with UnidosUS Affiliates. This includes securing an $11.4M Department of Labor Good Jobs Challenge grant, the largest Federal grant in UnidosUS’s history. He will work with the organization’s senior leadership to drive impact in the areas of digital skills, industry training, and systems change.

Traci Scott

Traci is an advanced professional in nonprofit program and organizational management with over 20 years’ experience. Currently, Ms. Scott leads NUL’s Urban Tech Jobs Program, an accelerated pathway for the long-term unemployed to work in the tech sector in several cities nationally. Prior to NUL, she was as the Director of Education and Workforce Development at Covenant House New York, one of the nation’s largest shelters for homeless youth and young adults, and 10 years in out-of-school time program management.
