Ann Manby is the former Chief Workforce Development Officer for Vantage Aging. She operated the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) both as a Department of Labor National Grantee and as the sole state grantee for the Ohio Department of Aging. She was instrumental in expanding this service region to include operating Indiana’s state grant as the sole state grantee for the Indiana Department of Workforce Development beginning in July 2023. During her tenure with Vantage Aging, Ann developed and launched multiple innovative initiatives, including a new Career Pathway Model for job seeker training, a Training and Supportive Service Navigator Model for job seeker support, and a Digital Inclusion Program for job seeker digital access and aptitude advancement.

Before transitioning into an exclusively workforce-focused role, Ann served as Chief Financial Officer of Vantage Aging for 5 years. In that role, Ann was responsible for financial planning strategies, budget development, and fiscal policy implementation.

Prior to joining Vantage Aging, Ann had a 6-year career in public accounting with a focus on nonprofit clients, and subsequently served as Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer of United Way of Summit County. She was recognized as a Woman of Distinction by Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio in 2017, 30 For the Future by the Greater Akron Chamber in 2010, Volunteer of the Year by Victim Assistance Program in 2009, and Outstanding Communications Volunteer by American Red Cross of Summit and Portage Counties in 2006.

Ann is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and earned her Bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. She serves on the Board of Directors of Ohio Auto Club, the Economic Security Advisory Committee for the American Society on Aging, the Community Engagement Committee of Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio, is a member of the Leadership Akron Class #33, and is the leader of her daughter’s Girl Scout troop. Previously, she served on the Board and Finance committee of Rockynol Retirement Community, the Finance Committee of the All American Soap Box Derby and as a committee member of the American Cancer Society’s local Cattle Baron’s Ball, the Red Cross Communications Committee, and the Victim Assistance Program Mardi Gras Gala.

Ann lives in Akron, Ohio with her wife, daughter, dog, and cat. She enjoys camping, traveling, and attending her daughter’s volleyball and lacrosse games.
