Senior Service America, Inc. Receives $3,675,440 for a 5 Year Umbrella Agreement from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service

SILVER SPRING, Md., Aug. 02, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has renewed a partnership with Senior Service America, Inc. (SSAI), to administer the Agriculture Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program which offers individuals 55 and older temporary paid assignments to provide technical services in support of the conservation-related programs of the NRCS. The NRCS is a program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The NRCS funds will be used by SSAI to recruit, screen, place, and pay program enrollees.

With current oversight of ACES programs in Florida, Puerto Rico and Louisiana, the new NRCS grant will fund the expansion of SSAI’s geographical oversight to other states seeking to engage older workers  in these assignments over the next five years. In all, this expansion will broaden the programs reach up to approximately 100 adults 55+ years of age during the five-year period.

Eligible participants are 55 years old or older and legally eligible to work in the United States. If accepted into the program they can work from 16 to 40 hours a week.

SSAI has an established track record as the leading national nonprofit working exclusively to help low-income Americans over 50 years old in getting retrained and finding employment through its network of local community-based agencies in 32 states.
